My modem is a Technicolor CGA4233, this is connected to a switcher network to connect to all the network plugs in the house, then to add WiFi around the house I have some apple routers
Your router’s external ip address (starting with 100.65.) is in a range reserved for CG-NAT so it looks like your ISP is using CG-NAT - at least on your service.
With CG-NAT in place, Port forwarding will not work. You can either talk to your ISP to see whether they can provide a public ip address that supports port forwarding or you can use Tailscale.
The Roon help centre article on Tailscale can be found at:
Be sure to follow the links to the Tailscale installation instructions appropriate to your Roon Server platform.
The only Roon Server platforms that cannot have Tailscale installed are the Nucleus, the Nucleus Plus and some ROCK installs (those that use BIOS boot and will not update the RoonOS build beyond 259). For these there is still a solution but it involves an additional small, always on computer (Maybe a Raspberry Pi) set up as a Subnet Router.
Thanks for writing in and welcome to the community!
@Wade_Oram knocked it out of the park with their response above - with CGNat in place, you may find it difficult to get port forwarding setup and functioning properly. Tailscale may be a great workaround option for you in this case.
Certainly, let us know your thoughts, we’ll be monitoring for your reply.
