Any solution to AT&T gateway PACE 5268ac that does not support uPnP or NATpmp?
Surely it must support a manual port forwarding rule then?
If you can configure a manual port forwarding rule you will also want to make sure that the ip address assigned to your Roon Server does not change.
The best way to do that is to use a DHCP reservations in your DHCP settings on the router.
If DHCP reservations are not available, you should be able to configure a static ip address for the Roon Server however, be warned that this has the potential to complicate moving to a new router in the future because the Roon Server will dissappear from your network if the new router uses a different subnet.
If your using Rock then you can run Tailscale on any computer, raspberry pi or nas on you network and make it a subnet router then ARC will be able to connect.
I use StreamDeck as a Roon Controller. Since this upgrade, connecting to ROON api on port 9100 doesn’t happen now.
Has the api been shut down?
Adding an updated comment after heavily testing and using ARC for the week since the update.
It’s worked perfectly for me in all situations. IPv4, IPv6, smoothly switching from Wi-Fi to cellular, driving down the freeway, etc. I’ve gone from expecting it to fail before I get through a single song to confidently depending on it.
I’ve got a very large local library (470K tracks) and I was thinking that that was the reason ARC wasn’t working for me. I was just about to buy another phone with more RAM just for ARC. With this Roon update, my current phone, which I’m happy with, handles ARC just fine.
Thanks Roon Team!
My Roon core is plugged in on SSD Card, linked to my Synology NAS. From time to time I had really big issues with the connectivity using ARC.
After several investigations I realized that my Firewall on my Router made all this Problems. I realized that on the Roon settings under Roon ARC there is a Roon server number and a port number. After a configuration of the Firewall of my Router with this 2 numbers (path) Roon ARC is running perfectly.
Roon Arc, love it when it works. Have the Ap on an iphone, Roon Nucleus as the server, last couple of months when I try to launch the app says “searching for Roon server” and never connects. Tried deleting the app and downloading it again, still the same problem. I am not as technically astute as most of the posters above, I just want it to work. I can’t check any Arc settings (on the phone) because it will not launch. Arc on my ipad will launch but gives a “poor connection” message. Any advice would be appreciated.
