ARC on CarPlay works well for me (2024 Mazda MX-5 Rf Club) with an iPhone 16 Pro. I have pre-downloaded about 200GB is music.
Using a wired USB connection, and comparing with Apple Music, I perceive better stereo separation, even with “lossless” music on both platforms.
Anyway, what keeps me from using ARC as my default CarPlay music platform: the ARC app “refresh” behavior that happens when the app loads on CarPlay.
ARC loads reasonably quick, then I start navigating to artist/playlists/whatever… and a couple of seconds later the screen appears to refresh (sort of flashes and reloads) and I am back to top-level navigation. It will do this twice before it stops and allows me to delve into the library.
Anyone else seeing this behavior and/or is this caused by something I am doing (like pre-loading so much music it has an effect on app startup)?
EDIT: Updated to clarify I mean ARC app navigation, not GPS navigation.
No, but I use an android car system in my Suzuki and do not use downloaded files. Connecting my Sony Experia 5 to the system I stream using my phones data limit. Here it works with no hiccups.
Yes! It has been happening for a while now, maybe even years. I usually forget about it when my trip is over, so never got around to report it.
I am currently driving a Volvo V90 from 2022 with wired CarPlay, and my wife’s Mini Countryman from 2020 does it, too - and that’s with wireless CarPlay.
It also happened in a Seat Ibiza from 2020 with a wired connection.
I find that hi-res albums are easy and quick to download from Qobuz for offline listening and they sound great in CarPlay on the Burmeister system in one car and pretty good on the Bose system in the other
