OK, I give up! Why is it that from Android Auto with Roon Arc via my Google Pixel 8 Pro am I only able to access albums that I have recently played on some other endpoint in my home with Roon? I’ve had this issue since the start and always thought I’d figure it out on my own, but I am finally gonna reach out to the community. Any help appreciated.
A screenshot of what you’re seeing might help
What sort of screenshot would help on this issue? A photo of my cars Android Auto running ARC? This would simply list a bunch of albums I’ve recently played on other home endpoints and not indicate the thousands of other albums I’d like to play in my car.
To be specific about this problem:
I drive a 2019 Acura RDX which supports Android Auto. I have not tried Roon ARC in any other vehicle. As I indicated in previous posts, any time I play an album at a home roon endpoint I then can access that album in my car via my Google 8 Pro and Android Auto running Roon ARC. I cannot access any album I have NOT played at a home endpoint in my car.
Example: In the car I select from ARC, Library, next Artist, then Grateful Dead and I only see those albums previously played at a home roon endpoint, five. I have over 100 Grateful Dead Albums and all I can access from any Roon endpoint at home.
I’m thinking this may be an Android Auto issue with the way it is implemented with my not so late model Acura.
I overcome this prior to a trip by briefly playing any Album I am likely to want to hear on the road, at home, before I leave to insure they are accessible in the car. Inconvenient of course.
I am fully able to navigate via my Google Pixel 8 Pro with ARC to access any album in my library. My problem is using the Android Auto implementation ONLY. I don’t like to touch my phone while driving as that is against the law in my locality.
I do not want to download albums to my phone if I can help it.
Any thoughts appreciated. Thank you!
