I have the issue, that playlists (with Qobuz or Roon content) don’t work when using Android Auto.
The issue could be narrowed down to the number of tracks in the playlist. It seems the magic spot is around 500 tracks. If I try a playlist >500 tracks I get the continuous loading screen, even after 1/2h, when I delete tracks from the playlist until the number falls below 500 it suddenly works.
The same big playlists work with ARC directly with my mobile, or if it’s a Qobuz playlist, with Qobuz and Android Auto. Just the combination ARC and Android Auto seems to have the issue.
Note: It’s not exactly a threshold of 500, just around that number.
There are many variables and sometimes Android Auto is flaky (it depends on what head unit, what mobile and what version of AA you are running). I have a 700 song playlist which works flawlessly via ARC / Android Auto (Pixel 9 XL)
I have the same issue. ARC works fine on its own but when connected via car play/ Androis Auto I can’t load bigger playlists.
my workaround is to load and play the playlist before connecting to the AA. then it works fine.
Its broken and at this time they dont have the resouces at this time to fix it or give anyone an answer.
That worked for me sometimes, but not consistently. Sometimes after connecting to AA it did not continue playing, instead I had to select a playlist again after connecting with the same result
Unfortunately it is my main use case and the reason I switched to Roon.
I have a new car and they don’t have storage anymore, so you need to stream something. I now ripped my whole CD collection and wanted to use Roon/Arc to play them in my car, since I spend roughly 2h per day commuting. And now exactly this use case is broken/not reliable
Your very fortunate that your Arc works. Mine stopped months ago.
