ARC question

Perhaps this has been asked already, but when using ARC, is there a way to shuffle play only tracks in the library that are marked as “favorites” (with the heart filled in)?

You can create a Smart Playlist that has just Favourites. A bonus, of course, is that that playlist is always up-to-date adding and deleting tracks as you de-favourite and favourite tracks. Then in Arc just shuffle that playlist.

Just go to tracks. Select the heart icon in the top left. Select the … in the top right and shuffle

OK, I created a playlist with a name, how do I add favorite tracks from my library?

You don’t need that if „favorite“ is your only criteria.

As @Matthew_Bowden1 wrote, just go to Tracks in ARC, tap the :purple_heart: top left to only display favorites, then tap the :blue_circle::blue_circle::blue_circle: menu at the top right, then tap Shuffle at the bottom.

If you do want to use the smart playlist approach, go to the regular Roon app > Playlists, tap :plus: > New Smart Playlist

Tap Tracks

Tap Favorites and then tap Save

Then give it a name and save it. Now switch to the ARC app > Playlists, and there you will find it:

Open it and tap Shuffle

This approach gives you additional options when creating the smart playlist by allowing you to also choose by tags, genres, and other focus options. However, you need to create the smart playlist in the regular Roon app (and hence you need to be at home while doing that)

BOOM!!! Thank you very much! Am I correct in any additions to my favorites selected will automatically propagate into this playlist?

Yes, any new tracks marked as Favourite will be automatically added to the smart playlist.
