Arc showing lossy MP3

Hi,

I noticed suddenly that AR shows lossy MP3 format for (few at least) what I listen from Qobuz.

When I open album it says FLAC 48 kHz 24 bit.
On playback that it says then as source format MP3 44.1 kHz 2ch.

Buggy? I have not notice this before when streaming with Arc… New version just come our right so maybe related to it?

Specific examples and screenshots would help

Here is example where I noticed it now…

The file is MP3. That’s it. Some tracks on Qobuz and Tidal are, for some reason.

Try looking at the different ‘versions’ of the album. Maybe there is a FLAC version too.

It’s most likely due to your settings in Arc.
Go to setting —> Playback —> Select Original Format.

Edit : @Joost_Hoogland

Depends on the type of internet connection you’re on. A slower mobile connection will fetch the lossy version at Qobuz if you have set that in the settings of Arc.

Edit: @Moonshiner , same thought at the same time

How to do that on Arc as that is the album what I started to play?

Ah! I had there automatically pick best quality.
hmm… Full 5G is not enough?

Edit: this did seem to fix the issue of quality.
So I would say that issue is that it down scale quality too much on auto setting. I did have 5g full connectivity what should be enough.

5G… My home is having fiber synchronous 1Gb where roon core is.

Agree, 5G should be enough. Did it change when you selected original format?

Yes it did…

I have now these settings and get High quality.
