Hi - just wondering if anyone is successfully using ARC with Truespeed fibre in the UK and, if so, what your router setup is? I’m looking to move providers and would prefer to avoid Tailscale for access if possible. I use a Unifi Dream Router which I hope to be able to just connect to the Truespeed FTU, instead of their router, although there’s conflicting information online about what is needed for this to work (and whether it works on residential accounts). I have reached out to them to clarify this point.
From my understanding of Truespeed, they are part of Freedom Fibre and as such are part network operator and ISP.
If you are having a fibre to property installation, you’ll have an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) fitted inside your property.
From this you’ll connect to a router. Either theirs or your own.
I have recently left Lila Connect who use the Freedom Fibre network and it was a case of plug n play with my UniFi network.
You can ask for your own static public IP address (usually for an extra cost, was for me) and then you can use Arc with port forwarding. If you stick with their usual single public IP address, you’ll be behind a CG-Nat and will need Tailscale.

Ah, that’s the critical information I was after - thanks for clarifying. Unfortunately, I think they only do fixed IPs on their business package, which makes the whole venture much more expensive.
I’m trying to avoid Tailscale as there’s several non-technical users on several different devices and I fear it will cause more problems than it solves.
This, at least, is encouraging.
