I think this puts a lot of the complaints on Roon into perspective We never had it so good. For many of us of a certain age, Roon and all it offers is Science Fiction…
They were great until the single playing on top started to slip due to lack of friction against the records below it. 5000 songs on shuffle seems a limitation but try stacking that many singles…
What about bass fishers ? Are they eligible ?

Back in 1965 I got one of these for my 15th birthday.
I used to record Alan Freeman’s show - Top 40 on Sunday afternoon - and make playlists by editing and splicing tape. Where we lived (west coast of Cumbria) you could get Radio Luxembourg on a good night but no chance of pirate radio. First thing I remember recording was Barry Maguire’s Eve of Destruction.
Yep, me too, but waaaaay before the Jackson 5 were around. It was a “flimsy” that, when you wanted to play it, you needed to put a quarter on the disc to hold it steady. About 10 plays and it was done, Thanks for the memory!
