Audio or music related anecdotes, jokes, cartoons... anyone? [2021]

I use under shelf wine glass holders for my cables. Necessity is (as always) the mother off invention  never thought to use a pic behind tho…brilliant - maybe even WAF approvable

Shouldn’t they be plugged into something somewhere?

Help! I must be the only one here who doesn’t get this one. :weary:

Kraftwerk was (is?) a German techno band, but I don’t get the allusion either.

Some sort of tie-in with the band Soundgarden?.

Thanks for shedding at least a little light on it for me. Maybe if I listened to techno, I’d have understood it better.

Oh no, don’t put me in that group. :grimacing:

Apart from these two freaks, I have no techno (and very little Heavy Metal, a la Soundgarden) -

Kraftwerk were somehow the predators of ‘German New Wave’ called ‘Neue Deutsche Welle’ in the beginning of the 80’. In 2018 they were still on tour. According to Wikipedia they influenced bands like David Bowie, Dr. Dre, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Primal Scream, Björk, The Human League, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Alphaville, O.M.D., Rammstein, Ultravox, Moby, New Order (Krafty) and Front 242. There exist cover versions from this track ‘Neon Light’ from O.M.D. And Simple Minds. Kraftwerk is attributed to the genre electronic. Calling them a Techno Band would be a bit anachronistic.

Yep, that’s me. A walking talking anachronism.

Kraftwerk’s surround sound recordings are rated #1 (9.84 out of 10), ahead of Pink Floyd, Doobie Bros and Beatles, on the QuadraphonicQuad Hi-Res Poll Chart.

Sometimes the music itself can be the joke (or complaint).

In 1979 the Teardrop Explodes released a single called “Bouncing Babies”.

Being alternative music it was difficult to buy in record shops, so…The Exxies released a single called “I Can’t Get Bouncing Babies By The Teardrop Explodes”.

Obviously this track quickly faded from view into obscurity until…

Some years later Mark Cottrell released “I Can’t Get I Can’t Get Bouncing Babies By The Teardrop explodes”

As far as I know that’s where the story ends…or does it? Perhaps this cycle can continue into the future with I Can’t Get I Can’t Get continuing to expand until the song title becomes too big to be contained in music files.

Sorry, the Freshies not the Exxies…
