We’ve discussed this quite a bit in the past. The USB Audio protocols which transfer audio data from a computer (or streamer) to a DAC via USB employ a mix of “Control” and “Isochronous”, if I remember correctly. “Bulk” is not used, I think.
Your previous post claimed that all audio CDs are CD-R. No.
Very few are. Music commercially released on CD-R is a recent phenomenon of the last 10-15 years that Amazon started. Effectively all music commercially released on CD 1982-2000 was glass mastered and mechanically pressed.
Additionally, both Reed and Solomon would rise from the grave to disagree with you about error correction. Red Book audio CD employs Cross-Interleaved Reed-Solomon Coding (CIRC) for both error detection and correction.

I do believe the issue comes down to when an audio CD player is actually playing something and e.g. there is a scratch which it could read through, but doesn’t, instead it averages out the pits and valleys (in the case of non CD-R). That’s how I recall it, but it was very many years ago. The instructor at the time was pretty unhappy with that particular implementation. Anyway I think I covered my previous post and agreed that it was my mixup over CD-R. I don’t think we need to labour that point any more?
Interpolation is used for error concealment. However, it is not a replacement for error correction. Try making a secure rip of a heavily scratched CD. It still may be bit perfect per the AccurateRip or CUETools database. That is CIRC and EFM at work.
For background, see Stereophile from 35 years ago:
“The error-correction tracks on the Verany disc have “blemishes” ranging from 0.05 to 4.0mm across. The CD standard calls for the ability to fully correct a data loss of up to 0.2mm across, but the Cross-Interleaved Reed-Solomon Code used for CD error correction allows, theoretically, for full correction of dropouts of up to 2.4mm across.”
As for your instructor, sorry, but I do not have a high opinion of vocational-technical education. It tends to boil down to the lowest common denominator.

Well that’s a shame in the age of Wikipedia, especially in a forum where a lot of people read your posts.
Great. How about I just edit this section out, it seems like there is undue focus on it and it doesn’t really matter anymore, given I’ve already declared it’s my mistake. Can we move on?
Edit: I’ve now removed it - I wanted to do strikethrough but actually couldn’t figure that out. Hopefully that doesn’t go against any rules or anything.
For info, Trust Level 2 members (which is where you are) can edit their own posts for up to 30 days.
And if you want to strikethrough text in a post, use two tilde characters (~~) at the start and end of the text.
Some YouTuber will rave review that. Too sad my system isn’t high resolving enough. So I have to skip with a heavy heart.
If somebody find, by mistake, some audioshoes, please let me know !
I think I need a pair to hear more air, “background, texture, tension, resolution, and location in space of the music”.
Sorry I could not resist !
Ear-raisers as some experts call them
Indeed, you have got the point
I’m glad there is at least one person who could understand me !
I you want, we could share it. Let’s say, one month for each of us !
What do you think ?
But, please agree to send them back to me if it will be an urgent need !
Important to wear them correctly. Here too we expect some directionality. Spoil it just once and the wear-in procedure starts at square one. Hundreds of hrs wasted.
Thanks !
I’ve almost forgot that !
Why don’t you have one each and just stand on one leg? Surely that’s a small price to pay for audio nirvana?
Are laces directional?
Oh my giddy aunt! $4100 for a motherboard? Looks like someone’s whipped off a few of the electrolytic caps and replaced them with Elna Silmics. Can’t see much in the way of evidence of other changes.
Another commodity product (no audio company has the spends to commission their own custom MB design) “breathed on” with a few selective mods and a 2000% markup…
Is there simply no end to the lunacy?
I guess you’ll never understand what a true hobby is.
BTW, this has an ATX power connector. Does that mean it takes a standard (switched) ATX PSU? Hmm…
This may look like a design flaw but as you should clearly know (while mocking about a hobby) this can be easily compensated by using an audiophile power cord.
