I am using ESS9028 with RPI3 running RoPieee. Excellent audio quality, I have the same impression as the originator of this thread. For example, voices are marvelously real.
RoPieee is a fantastic solution for RPI3. Very much recommended. Never heard Roon sound that good. From my laptop Audirvana sound several steps better than Roon, but this setup here is superior to that again. Significantly. (I have another DAC connected to the PC, could be the reason)
This setup is without Kali or IanCanada reclockers. Is there anyone who have done a review of this DAC with vs. without any of the reclockers, regarding sound quality (when everything works)?
