Just a simple question for Roon. Recently switched from the Auralic Aries G2.1 to the G2.2. The G2 and G2.1 are indicated as RoonReady on your partners/auralic page. The G2.2 is not listed, and when I look in Roon itself, the G2.2 is indicated as RoonReady Aries G_2. Does just because the G2.2 is relatively new not really RoonReady? Everything works as it should so that’s no problem, I was just wondering why it’s not just there?
Should be. The partners page isn’t always up to date on new models….
Roon Ready per Auralic’s website…
And unfortunately this is the only correct source to determine if a device is actually Roon ready or not.
Certainly not the manufacturer’s website. Some are rather opportunistic and claim RoonReady certified, while in fact they are not (or not yet).
This may be a case of Roon not updating their site, and despite earlier promises, these things continue to take place
Auralic wouldn’t post it as Roon Ready on their website if it wasn’t. Auralic is a high end audio company. Roon just needs to update the partner page…
Perhaps. But it wouldn’t be the first high end company to have jumped the gun.
I have an Aries G2.2 and it is indeed Roon Ready.
How do systems like the Auralic2.2 compare to the Apple Studio M2 Ultra? Would you say that its 5% better, or more?
Hello, it’s now been almost a year since the question was asked and it has never been answered so let’s try again.
Is the Auralic Aries G2.2 Roon certified?
looks like “cognitive dissonance” at play…
Just to add fuel to the fire:
https://us.auralic.com/pages/before-you-buy quote “AURALiC streamers are all Roon-Ready network players, playing seamlessly as endpoints in your Roon system.”
And also, Vega S1 Roon Certification Status - #39 by Xuanqian - Hi-Fi World - AURALiC | Community “We use old G2 certification on all G2.1 and G2.2 products.”.
G2.2 (and the S1) are based on the new G3 Tesla platform whereas the G2 was based on the previous generation G2 platform with a totally different architecture.
So Auralic is misreporting not just the S1 (as a Mini) but now we can see that they are misreporting the G2.2 and G2.1 products in the firmware as well. Wow.
Might be worth checking out this page again Roon x AURALiC
OK, so that page has only just been updated over the last few days. Still only the Vega 2.1, Vega 2.2 and Vega S1. No reference to the Aries 2.1, 2.2 or S1.
