Automated tagging?

I don’t think there’s external software that can automate something within Roon.

The only problem is that tagging albums one by one can be quite time consuming

Are you aware that you can multi-select albums (or other items) and tag them together? I summarized it here for playlists but it works the same for albums (or tracks, artists, …):

Welcome to the community! Go to Playlists, select one (on the PC with right-click, on mobile with a tap-and-hold). At left top, Select All. Using this approach, you can also do other things for multiple items at once, like editing genres or credits.
