B1228, B1235, B1253 - Roon does NOT start on Win 10 [Investigating, probably screen resolution related]

I tried reinstallaing a couple of more times, but the app won’t start.

However, i DID find some .NET related issues in EventViewer.
Uploaded the EventViewer logs as “Roon Crash.evtx”

Yes, unfortunately, @Mikael_Ollars, reinstalling only helps people affected by the auto-update problem. The one you are having based on our theory is a different one and is happening because of the .NET update as well but is probably related to the rendering area available. That’s why I asked about the task bar size. Moreover, we tried with on laptops with 1920 x 1080 native resolutions which were set up to use the same resolution as your Windows machine and we failed to reproduce this issue :frowning: Which means that there are probably some additional factors that contribute to this issue.

Thank you for uploading your Event Viewer logs, I will show them to our dev team. I hope that they will contain some useful data.

Hey @Mikael_Ollars !
Could you tell us please which .Net version is installed on your laptop?

Not at home at this time, so i don’t know. The lappy is fully updated however, 22H2.
And, i tried installing the official runtime package of .Net 6.0(.15?) from Microsoft but that didn’t have any effect. Roon still crashed when trying to start.

Hi, @Mikael_Ollars, we discussed your case with our dev team yesterday. They said that they still need more data to investigate this issue further. As the next step, I’d like to ask you to do the following:

  1. Install the latest Early Acces build
  2. Follow the steps from this article and try to launch Roon app with the following command line arguments – -gldebug -gldebugctx
  3. Collect logs from this run
  4. Upload them to our File Uploader

These command line arguments will add more logging and hopefully will give our dev team more ideas on how to approach this problem and why does it occur.
