Since the most recent update, to ARC v1.0.9 B149, I have noticed this behaviour a few times. Most recently yesterday on my usual walk (where ARC has worked perfectly in previous builds).
I select a playlist or album to play and set off on my walk. The music plays as expected for about 50 minutes or so but whenever I open the app on my phone I find that browsing around the ARC UI is not possible, even during normal playback.
Yesterday I saw this happen and captured a few screen shots;
and subsequently (again music still playing);
Eventually I decided to kill the app, which obviously stopped playback and then when I relaunched it I got this;
When I was finally able to get the app relaunched it then went on to work properly again.
