B1552 "limited to Windows / MacOS and Linux clients only." Got it on ROCK and "There is an issue loading your library"

Continuing the discussion from EarlyAccess: RoonServer 2.54 Build 1552 is Live!:

I got it on ROCK and it resulted in this:

And while the wording slightly changed, it still claims to affect “clients only” while the the actual change listed seem to imply that mainly the server component got changed / improved.

And it DID update the server:

Yup - I have the same problem on my ROCK/NUC:

PS I’ve rebooted the NUC twice now, and still getting the same message…

Plus, what would a “Linux client” be?

Basically there are no updates for the iOS or Android clients.

And I saw this thread too late :man_facepalming:

Updated.

What we know by now (third time in a row) and a Linux client doesn’t even exist despite people asking for it since years.

<irony>I just start seriously wondering what the person who writes those notes is thinking. Is there a hidden meaning behind those deception attempts we mere users and testers just don’t get? Some sort of internal joke maybe?</irony>

You need to reboot it 3 times whilst standing on your head cursing the bloody thing

p.s. it doesn’t work but picturing you doing it seemed fun in my head.

I’m waiting for my server to come online following the update.

Well, I’ve rebooted three times and still no luck - I wasn’t standing on my head and cursing though…

Same problem here

I’m ok here

On DietPi

Yup - DietPi (Linux), not RoonOS - we’re still buggered here…

So they flucked RoonOS :man_facepalming:

@ben any ideas??

Is it me or is your version of RoonOS wrong

No, it’s the version you get for older Legacy BIOS installs. Only UEFI installations got auto updates to 2.0.

I have a static IP and no need for Tailscale, so I didn’t bother to update. That’s still fine and supported.

Same issue with version 2.0 of RoonOS…

Hey everyone, I’m sorry for a rough release. Looking into this as I type.

I think I’ll pass on this build.

I do hope that we get a chance to use a stable release for a few days before it goes to production. I’m very relieved that you guys have made so much progress on memory leaks and I’d like the opportunity to make sure that the fixes don’t regress based on the recent fixes and whatever is done to fix the 1552 issues.

Thanks.
