B1670: Roon 2.70 : RAM usage feedback

Chart of RAM usage following the B1670 update.

Usage is stable at the 4GB level, then this morning during the ‘Scheduled Activity’ window there was a big spike up to 9GB, which fell back to 7GB
Last database Backup taken was on the 3rd

This usage was managed as well as unmanaged.
However once complete the manage remains at the same level.
I would imagine that the unmanaged will be released when the next database backup activity runs,
At this time it has been nearly over 25 days since a hardware reboot and 2.5 days since updating to B1670

I’ve been noticing Roon’s exorbitant memory usage for some time now and have even created a dedicated app for macOS to monitor it. The memory usage almost always keeps rising, even with just one zone playing.

Thanks for reports! As I mentioned here, we are working on a new EA release loaded with perf fixes. Will be waiting for your observations, once it goes out. Thanks for patience and help!

I initiated the restart yesterday, as some of the zones were not being identified correctly.

New EA release is out EarlyAccess: Roon 2.71 Build 1674 and ARC 1.81 Build 422 are Live!
