B286 - Still unresponsive and almost unusable queue

I created a post on this topic about 6 weeks ago which received no comment. But in my opinion this is such a massive usability issue that it warrants another post as it is still a problem in the current build and I assume will remain an issue as Roon has not in any way responded to this.

  • I press queue and nothing happens for 4 seconds.
  • The queue screen appears but is blank and the app is completely unresponsive for another 25 seconds
  • Only then, can I scroll through my queue and make changes or see what is upcoming

The length of the queue does not make a difference. As I cannot upload a video I have created two screenshots with a timer at the bottom recreating the above 4 and 25 seconds where the app is completely unresponsive.

I’m not sure, but I recently had something similar. I then reset my network settings. Just on default. ??

Thanks for the reply. What network settings are you referring to exactly? This unresponsive queue issue also happen when I put ARC in offline mode. So I would think any potential network issues can be disregarded.

Ah I see. I can try. But I doubt it will change anything as this also happens when ARC is in offline mode. So I heavily assume it is the app and not the phone.

For me the ARC queue has always had problems both with loading and “focus”.
From when I click the “queue” button to when the queue screen scrolls from bottom to top (and it never happens smoothly but always with one or two clicks), about 5 seconds pass during which ARC freezes.
Furthermore the view never positions itself on the current song playing but always further ahead (if the queue does not contain only one song)

It got a little better for me after reinstalling ARC on my phone. Obviously I lost all my downloads so a hard reinstall should not be the solution. I am very interested to see if that issue creeps back up again after some use and more cache used by the app.

After using ARC for some time after last hard resetting the app the queue again becomes increasingly unresponsive. Resetting the app and losing all downloads cannot be the solution to this. But something in the background over time must slow the app down and is still not fixed nor acknowledged by Roon support.
