Best PI DAC? Looking at sound quality

Thanks. Now can change volume without moving

I’m using a HiFi Berry DAC HAT on raspi 4 that’s also attached to a raspi 7" display. I do not use a heat sink or any active cooling. While playing music the temp maxes out at 60C and averages around 57C at that temp it doesn’t need additional cooling. I think the max temp for a raspi is 80C.

Seems like heatsinks + standoffs + gpio pin extensions could be in order.

I guess it depends on your system as to what effect changing your DAC will have.
In one of my zones I was running a Pi3/HifiBerry DAC+ PRO, analogues out into my amp running Kef Q35 floor standers. Sounded OK, but I switched the Pi3/HFB for a Topping DX3 Pro which gave a much more open and transparent sound which I preferred, using a Pi4 board/Roipeee XL connected to the DAC via USB. The Pi3/HFB now connects to an AudioPro C5A in the kitchen.
However, in another zone I also have a Pi4/Allo Boss I2S DAC v1.2 connected to the same model amp running Kef iQ7 floorstanders and this sounds great (to my ears).
It’s a question of try it & see I guess.
