Hi,

Time for another release, so here’s the first BETA for 2024.08.

The changelog:

  • NEW: add support for HifiBerry DAC8x HAT
  • NEW: [Flirc] remote support for ‘mute volume’
  • IMPROVEMENT: [display] print volume with 1 decimal
  • IMPROVEMENT: update Linux kernel
  • IMPROVEMENT: update Plexamp component
  • IMPROVEMENT: update Shairport-Sync component (Airplay)
  • IMPROVEMENT: update Librespot component (Spotify)

Plexamp 4.11.1 just released … any chance of updating to this version in the RoPieee beta? incremental fixes/changes vs 4.11.0

This might be a silly question, but would it be possible to show ‘now playing’ on the screen (if using the Raspberry screen) for any service other than roon , i.e. Spotify? Thank you for all your efforts.

i also observed AirPlay1 not working (but only after switching back and forth between modes) … another reboot and it’s working again

May I know what is your pi type is it pi5?
I think it maybe related to my recent upgrade from pi400 to pi5

Mine never work no matter how many time I restart it. AirPlay 1 forced is not working on my Pi5
Maybe I will try to create a new ropieee on my pi400 when I find a new as card

Can you see it? Can you connect to it? Can you play to it, but no sound?

I would, if there’s a download. And that’s not the case…

The ropieee is never shown in iOS airplay list when I forced airplay 1 ( using USB audio)
But if I change it back to airplay 2. The iOS can target ropieee normally and play sound without any issue via my USB audio

i normally use AirPlay1 mode, and it was working as expected before and after the latest beta update

i then switched for AirPlay2 mode (for beta checkout purposes), and this mode was also working as expected

after switching back to AirPlay1 mode, ropieee was not visible, so i couldn’t connect to it from my iphone … after one additional ropieee restart, AirPlay1 mode again working as expected

not a persistent issue like what @N00brx is describing

@spockfish Harry did we regress the operation and display of the radio/repeat/random icons somewhere along the way…I seem to recall there were 3 icons displayed but I might have one or 2 of the functions wrong…or have a screwed up a setting somewhere?
