To prevent kernel regression issues like with the last one, I’d like to put out an early beta with the updated kernel.
Furthermore I’ve upgraded Librespot (Spotify) as well, because there are still some people having issues.
And finally… this release introduces localization support for the webinterface! That means that you can change the language of the webinterface to something else then the standard English (US).
Right now this is limited: I’ve provided the Dutch translation because I needed to test it with something, but you’ll get the picture.
The nice thing is also that it’s possible to participate in the translations, as these are simple Json (text) files.
As mentioned in the documentation, you need to create a PR.
Keep in mind though: there is already a dutch translation. So my question would be: are these changes on the existing one? Or do you want specifically a ‘nl-BE’ version of a Dutch translation?
Hey Harry, I’ve upgraded all my beta units and no problems so far. I’ve identified something that could be “easier” though.
I recently force logged-out all my Plex sessions, which reset all my plexamp tokens. What I hadn’t realised was that the unauthorised plex service doesn’t just not allow streaming, it completely fails to start (so that the Open Plex Webpage link gives an error).
Might be good if the plexamp service page indicated whether plex is running and/or mentions that the open webpage link will only work if you have a valid token.
Hi, I’ve added for Github a beta version of the Polish translation.
If anyone in Poland would like to check it out and report any improvements, please contact me privately. This is a beta version, so without the ability to preview the translation live, you may encounter errors or long descriptions of certain functions. I’m also wondering if the Polish diacritical marks (ą, ć, ę, ł, ń, ó, ś, ź, ż) will display correctly in the GUI.
I’ll report changes when the Polish version is available in the next beta version of RoPieee.
after a Plex password reset + auto sign-out from all devices …
headless Plexamp won’t fail until after the next service restart or device reboot, and after that the service still runs but doesn’t work (i think flagging this from ropieee’s perspective would require interpreting what’s in the plexamp logs or locally stored settings) … at this point the headless plexamp player will stop being visible to other plexamp instances
once you’re in this state, getting headless back up and running on ropieee requires two steps …
fetch and apply a new plex claim code
go to the plexamp web interface and … settings > account > sign out and sign back in, click on cast icon and re-select the headless player, check any playback settings that revert to defaults after sign-in (autoplay, sample rate matching, sample rate conversion are three i’m aware of)
I’ve just pushed out a second beta build. Focus has been on more translation related stuff.
A few remarks:
first of all, thanks to @Frank_M and @Bruno_Winyle we now got Dutch and Polish translations!
the full translation (or actually: preparing for translation support) of RoPieee is not done yet, and will take considerable time. So even if you switch to a different language, you’ll still see English in a few spots. That will take a few releases (stable) before everything is translated. So there is no need to report “I’ve seen something that isn’t translated!”
On the translation page (GitHub - RoPieee/ropieee-l10n) I’ve added a (generated) TODO file that shows what needs to be done in the translation files.
I will not wait for translation stuff to be finished. Nor can I guarantee if and when I pull in the translation(s) being made.
The rest is all ‘under the hood’ work, so nothing special to mention.
Yeah. With the remark that you were busy, and you dit not have the time… so I should spend my time on it. Because my time is less precious than your time.
I would like to try tohelp and builded a German Translation File in .json.
This is my first time that I have done something like that…
I tried to pull a PR at GitHub….but I didn’t get it right..
Is anyone willing to send my German translation File to GitHub if I Post it here? Sorry, my File is ready and I don’t now to „help“ further…
If it is not interesting at all…..ignore my post….
