It is positive that Roon welcomed recently (January 2025) the Cabasse Pearl Akoya powered speaker into its family of Roon ready devices.
The Cabasse flagship “Pearl Pelegrina” is also Roon ready.
However, Cabasse The Pearl, the bigger active speaker, continues to remain merely “Roon Tested”.
Given that dedicated Roon clients need the platform for a fulfilling involvement with their music, is it reasonable to expect that the already established synergy between Roon and Cabasse will expand so that the Pearl can soon be integrated into the Roon-ready cohort?
It’s a very good observation, however, Roon never comment on their Roon Certification program.
The first we will know about any Roon Tested or Roon Ready certification is when the device has passed.
Till then all we can do is wait, I’d not recommend purchasing a device with the “hope” that it will one day become certified.
I know this is not the news you wanted, but I feel it’s better to have eyes open so I’ve told it how it is.
Thank you for the response.
I do hope the issue can be resolved soon. It would be a pity to be forced to bypass this truly exquisite range of speakers over what essentially should be an easily resolved situation.
This is to ascertain that Cabasse Pearl Akoya is Roon ready. The speakers were bought today, their firmware was updated (version 25.01.8) and they were smoothly integrated into the Roon ecosystem as Roon ready devices. No worries then. And by the way, they play superbly (classical and jazz at least).
