There are various “versions” of Ponchielli’s La Gioconda sung by Maria Callas. The two main ones are a 1952 recording with the RAI Turin and a 1959 recording from La Scala. Antonino Votto conducted both versions. Ideally these should be separate, not grouped as versions. I have mentioned this before Ponchielli and Callas version problems This is a nice to have rather than a need to have.
What I can’t explain is how Callas’ 1954 recording of Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci got linked as a version of the two mentioned above. Can this be separated out?
