Cambridge Audio CXA 61

This amplifier is Roon Tested. How do I make it work? I have a Roon Rock.

Plug ROCK it into the USB input enable it in Roons Settings/Audio.

Then it would be best to have the ROCK connected with it (Cambridge CXA 61) all the time to make it Roon Ready.
Thanks.

That’s the only way it will work. I suggest you research what Roon tested actually is .A bit hard to have it Roon Ready or any other methods of connection without a network connection. . Roon Ready requires a network connection which this amp doesn’t have.

You can use a Raspberry Pi (if the CXA 61 has USB) or maybe a WIIM PRO and feed the coaxial or Optical outputs from there.

I assume you have a NUC/ROCK , implied ?

you can connect via USB , USB A on NUC to the squarish USB input on the CXA61 (Top RHS)

The CXA61 has a built in DAC so all should work

I am not sure what Linux drivers you need for connection (if any) Your Network connection is then via the NUC , just place the NUC next to the CXA61 - job done

I have used both the 61 and the 81; I loved both but could only keep one. The 81 has XLR inputs, and my DAC has XLR outputs. So I kept the 81. The CXA61 is a well featured device that plays above its weight. Worth every penny!
