Can I move Roon core to a new computer if I don't have access to the old?

What happens if I don’t have access to the machine I was running Roon core on? Either because HD crashed, it got stolen, or I am away for a lengthy amount of time? Can I switch the core license to a new machine without disabling the license on the original machine?

I’ve done this and it worked. Upon setting up the new core the setup will ask you if you want to use the new core and you are warned that the old core cannot be used anymore. I’ve done nothing with the old core.

Understood, but did Roon have access to the old core to disable it? I don’t know how that works but I imagine Roon might require to get the old core to confirm it has been disabled. That’s the core of the question (pun intended).

When you log into the new computer as Core then it effectively grabs the licence from the old one without the old one needing to be online.

I use the same licence between my main house and my holiday house. I don’t need to leave the one I have been using online to then log in to the other one.
