Can I use a DAP as a fancy Roon remote?

I appreciate that it is an over the top use case but… if I loaded Roon remote on a DAP, would the physical play/pause and skip buttons control roon or would they just control the native output of the player? I have a dCS Network Bridge and about the only frustration I have with it is the lack of physical remote control. I know there are RPi solutions.

Now I write this down, I have a feeling I know the answer.

This would just be for in the house, so not interested in the ARC implementation.

If Roon Remote can be installed, then yes, it can be used to control other zones.

The play buttons on the DAP are hit and miss even with apps working locally. Whilst the app will control your endpoint the physics ones may not work.
