Can I use a Raspberry Pi 3 as a Roon remote? I do not not want Ropiee, just want to use it to run an app for a remote.

I think the Roon Remote software only works on iOs and Android.

Do you have an Andriod or iOS phone or tablet? You can sort-of use a RPi with touchscreen display, but it’s pretty terrible compared to the Roon Remote app.

It seems like there might be something here -

I don’t care, so TL;DR for me.

Where do I get the Roon Remote app? Thanks,

From the downloads page.

As @GKern said, it won’t run on an RPi.

Mmmh, but you can install an Android on a Pi:

Best to get Roon Remote from the Android or iOS app store for your phone or tablet

Worth a try, I guess.

I wonder if Roon Remote has a mouse-able interface or if one could use it with an RPi touch screen.

I have built a number of large touchscreen Raspberry pi Android solutions that have worked really well.
Not tried Roon as they have been in work, but k bet it would work really well.

Mike

It will work with a touch screen, but I don’t know about the performance on a Pi3.
Perhaps it is better with not much more costs, to use a mini PC with windows on it and use the IMHO much better windows application.
