Can the memory increase improve performance?

I just increased the memory on my Nucleus+ from its original 8gb to 32gb. I did it bc it felt like the Nucleus was getting sluggish. The collection is about 12k+ CDs, 140k+ tracks. The improvement was immediately noticeable, especially when navigating Focus and Roon Radio playback. Just an FYI for those approaching the Nucleus performance max.

Are you sure it was the RAM? Because the designers of the Nucleus and Roon OS have said many times that this is not possible (with Roon OS).

Beyond any placebo effect, what users fail to take into account is that a RAM install requires a power off and restart. That reboot by itself tends to improve performance for a time on many Roon servers.

Yes I’m sure.

Maybe the new memory is a faster type then, or a restart (and possibly the recent Roon performance updates) helped. Roon OS does not swap to disk and it either has enough memory or it doesn’t (and then it crashes)
