Can you access Muse on an iPhone?

I can open it but it does nothing. I can turn each bit on and off (eg parametric) but there’s no actual eq to adjust.

Where is it to be found?

On Remotes with bigger screens (tablets, PCs).

So how do you use it if you don’t have those?!

It’s no different from room dsp function of old.
It could not be adjusted on a small form screen like a phone. There is just not enough screen real estate.
You need an 8" tablet or larger or a full laptop/PC.

It’s a shame they failed to mention that in their recent email on the subject.

AFAIK there was no recent email regarding Roon Remote and DSP – but there was one regarding Roon ARC and MUSE. Accessing MUSE on a phone running Roon ARC shouldn’t pose a problem as it’s designed exactly for that purpose (according to that aforementioned email).

But Roon Remote and Roon ARC are two different pieces of software, designed for different purposes.

4 posts were split to a new topic: Can not use ARC with Starlink

I can, iPhone 12 Mini.
From within MUSE I can viewed the formats supported, set and select Equalisation for the listening devices I am using with ARC, E.g. Dongle DAC, Car integration, the FR profile entered for different headphones.

“MUSE places radically unique EQ handling, optimized balance control, volume leveling, DSD & MQA support, and more in the palm of your hand - for complete audio control wherever you are.”

Not if you’ve got an iPhone in the palm of your hand, apparently.

What device is your core running on?

Works for me, that quote is referring to Muse in ARC which is DSP for mobile use not in the home. Roon has yet to update the DSP engine ( now rebranded to Muse confusingly) in the main app to be able to use its features on a phone. DSP in the main Roon app is far more complex and has far more components to play with that don’t suit a phones layout. ARCs muse is basic in comparison and a lot of Roons DSP stuff won’t translate to portrait orientation.

Get yourself a decent Roon control device such as an iPad. A laptop is even better. There are several Roon features not available on a phone due to screen size.

Neither would be remote sized enough for relaxing in an armchair listening to music.

I can easily use Excel spreadsheets on an iPhone so this “screen not big enough” stuff is just nonsense. Of course you could fit it on an iPhone. Just turn it landscape.

I can’t see any reason why this would be related to screen size. If you can do it in Arc you can do it in Remote surely?

I am relaxing in my armchair with a lapboard and laptop just now as always. I have an iPad going on the table next to me and iPhone with Decibel Meter app running. A phone is very marginal as a Roon control device as you are finding out.

EDIT: You should enter a feature request for Roon Muse availability on iPhone.

On a Nucleus.

Agree Roon app on iPhone iOS needs to support MUSE please
