Cancel Qobuz Subscription But Keep Account

As the topic title says if I cancel my subscription but keep my account active, will I still able to access my purchased albums and stream via the Qobuz, Wiim app etc?. My current subscription does not expire until the end of November and as of this moment in time have no plans to cancel but circumstances can change.

Your account will be maintained for some time ( maybe forever, I do not know).
However. You cannot stream anything from the Qobuz servers, even the music you have bought.
Speaking from own experience.

@Terry_Fell1 - I suggest you contact Qobuz Support directly to get the definitive position. Ask for clarification of whether you will still be able to access your purchased albums if you need to download them again for whatever reason.

If you download your purchased albums, they’re accessible just like your other local files - this has nothing to do with accounts, subscriptions and such.

Edit:
Your account at Qobuz will remain active and you can still use their store to buy more albums, just that subscription will end.

But again, download all your purchased albums to access them any way you want without having to subscribe to anything or be online anywhere!

It is a good question though, i assume you cannot stream anything not purchased, but can you stream your purchased albums or are they only for download?

Curently I have not renewed my Qobuz subscription (nothing to do with Qobuz, but personal exploration of doing without streaming overall, still buying albums)

I can still login at Qobuz, go into my account and look at all the purchases I have made.

Downloading an album purchased in 2016, works perfectly:

Streaming does not work, I can only listen to samples (whilst being offered a 1 month trial)

Just to chime in here with my experience.

From my experience, your Qobuz account is free to set up and can then be used in two indpendendent ways:

  • Purchasing music
  • Managing a streaming subscription

If you cancel your streaming subscription, your account is still active and you can still access your purchased music through the ‘My Purchases’ section of your account profile.

I purchased albums off of Qobuz some time before I ever subscribed to the streaming service. Later I used the same account to subscribe to the streaming service.

Now, within my account, I have the ability to cancel the streaming service - but that does not close the Qobuz account.

If, for some reason, you really do want to close your account in its entirety (and thus loose access to your purchased downloadable items) then there is a link at the bottom of the ‘My Personal Information’ page of the account profile that will let you delete the Qobuz account where it says:

The closure of your account will be irreversible. By closing your account, you lose the ability to re-download your previous purchases in the future. Please ensure you download your purchases beforehand. Delete my Qobuz account permanently

The Italicized text in the original is a link which I have deliberately not reproduced here for safety!
