Cannot Play Higher than 44.1Khz from Tidal

I’m trying to play Tidal tracks that are higher than 44.1Khz, but the Source in the Signal path will not go higher than 44.1. I’m using a Topping E30 DAC and have the max sample rate set to 768Khz. As an example, the “Activate Infiniti” album by The Bad Plus is rated at 96Khz, but the signal path shows 44.1Khz for Source. There are no presets in place for this device. I have an “Individual” Tidal plan for $10.99/mo. I have no local versions of this album stored in my collection. There is only one version of this album available on Tidal.

Also, while we’re here…in the case of albums that I do have stored locally, is there a way to have Roon play the higher res version if it’s available in tidal, by default, with no manual intervention, even if that version has not been added to my library?

Thank you!

In Roon Settings → Services → Tidal → Edit

Make sure that Streaming Quality is set to “Max”

If that’s already set to “Max” try disabling Tidal and then re-enable.

If you’re still having issues after that please post a screenshot of Roon’s Signal Path.

That worked, so thank you! If you don’t mind, maybe you know the answer to my second question? “In the case of albums that I do have stored locally, is there a way to have Roon play the higher res version if it’s available in tidal, by default, with no manual intervention, even if that version has not been added to my library?”

Thank you!
