Can't get Tidal to connect when subscribed via Apple

I subscribed to Tidal via Apple, and no matter what I do I can’t get Roon to recognise the subscription. I use the “login with Apple” option in the Roon Settings page, which takes me to the browser and authenticates, but the Roon app just doesn’t recognise my Apple email address or find a valid subscription. How do I fix this?

Roon does not work with free trial levels of Tidal or Qobuz.

Instead of using the “login with Apple” option, what happens if you use the email option, using the email associated with your Roon Account?

If I remember Roon has issues with Qobuz when signed up via a subsidiary rather than direct some time ago. Not sure if that was ever sorted or not.

Because the email and password is associated with my Roon account and not my Tidal account, Tidal doesn’t recognise it - as expected.

However, I do have an old Tidal account, and that login works … but doesn’t seem to be associated with the Apple subscription. It’s all a bit of a shambles, and clearly Roon is not picking up subscriptions that have been purchased through Apple.

You may be able to go to the Tidal website and update your user information (login/pass) in the settings so it’s using a proper email/password instead of logging in via Apple.

That said, if you subscribed via Apple (app store), you might be paying an extra $3/month by not signing up via the Tidal website, so canceling your membership and signing back up through the website might be beneficial as well.
