Changed from Tidal to Qobuz and Playlists are messed up

I saved my Tidal and Roon playlists to Soundiiz and transferred to Qobuz.

But they now appear in Roon at the Qobuz tab…not the Roon Playlists.

The Roon playlists are still there but they now can’t find the tracks that were formally Tidal.

I can change them one at a time but that takes forever. I’m wondering if I can use Soundiiz to somehow transfer them to Roon.

I took a screen shot of the problem

Well, I found an easy solution. I go to the QOBUZ tab in Roon. Then My Qobuz…then Playlists

If you click the three dots you can save a local copy and it overwrites the bad playlist in Roon

It won’t update any existing playlists as they point to Tidal and can’t be changed outside of Roon. Like you have done you have to reimport in the playlist for Roon to use it to replace your old one with Tidal versions.

Is there a way to do this without Soundiiz now that Roon directly supports both? I essentially want to move from Tidal to Qobuz with minimal effort, but previous uses of soundiiz have completely mismatched a large number of tracks.

No foolproof way I am afraid. Playlist improver may work on some tracks but not guaranteed as it wasn’t built for that purpose never used it myself as I don’t keep playlists or albums from streaming anymore you may likely need to have both services to try it out though.

Thanks Gipsy, that’s what I feared.

I assume that the improve quality option won’t work once I cancel Tidal (even though broken tracks are pretty poor quality  ). I basically want something like the “replace with local” only with .

Will keep looking, thanks

I used the “improve” button for my very recent switch from Qobuz to tidal. And it worked perfectly for me.

Thanks Maurice,

So did you cancel Qobuz, and then click improve?

If you have both Tidal and Qobuz added you can disable Tidal temporarily and try the improve button.

You can just “disable” it in the settings.
I did this temporarily so I could use the improve button. I then re enabled it as I had to manually check the Qobuz version of each album for liked songs and then add them to the tidal version. This was the worst bit.

Yes thats the bit that worries me. It’ll take me many hours. The disabling is a great idea though, thanks both

FYI I created a feature request for Roon to provide this support out of the box, so future switchers down have to do this.

100% agree - voted on the suggestion. It should be in Roons interest to prepare for one of the streaming services going bust - or just changing strategy and remove itself from Roon.

Tidal removed themselves from Plex.

One of the biggest value (for me) in Roon is the tags & favourites - I dread rebuilding the tags & favs manually on Qobuz (with the risk of them also going bust)

I don’t use favourites are all, never felt the need to.
What about albums from streaming services added to the library but not favourites?

What if Tidal or Qobuz or Qobuz change their API meaning any cross-checking by Roon needs to be re written?

The playlist “improve” button if not error proof, I’ve seen it recommend improvements that IMO are not.

This is a big task to do properly and effectively and maintain against potential streaming service changes.

I think too much is being expected of Roon, streaming services should be viewed as complimentary add-ons which could vanish any time.

Roon should concentrate on our own libraries of purchased music which should be static.
