Changed network...forgot to alter Roon settings now no login

Hi all I have been a total muppet…changed my network…but forgot to go into Roon and change ip settings…I think it may have a fixed ip…(I can’t remember) - how do I login now… Nuc is running rock … can I hook up key board and monitor direct and get in that way? If so could I have some advice…cheers

I did an IP scan it’s definitely not on there…so I am fairly sure it has a fixed ip with wrong settings.

This thread gives a couple or three methods - depending upon your situation one or other of them should work,

The thought crossed my mind … but I was hoping not to have to do that…a world of pain.

OK. Can you rememer what the ip address of your ROCK/NUC was?

If not, can you remember what the ip address of your old router was?

If you can remember either one, then we can proceed without needing to do the Roon OS network reset procedure.

If you can’t remember, then you will have no choice but to connect a keyboard and monitor and follow the procedure at:

Note: This talks about a Nucleus - but the procedure is exactly the same for Roon OS as installed by ROCK.

Why is the reset procedure a world of pain? You stated you can hook up keyboard and monitor in you first post??? All the procedure does is reset the network to DHCP…

On boot, ROCK will display it’s IP address.

Then, set an IP on a machine in that subnet. That will let you connect to it and “fix” it.

Or maybe just keep it using DHCP this time?

Other option, as you don’t give enough info here…
If you did change your router put ROCK and a pc isolated, that is do not plug your router back into your new network, on the old router. This will let your old routers DHCP server give your pc an address in the old range and should show ROCK as a client.

You could also build a little network using a hub (or switch with mirror / monitor port) with ROCK and a PC and start doing a packet capture on the PC. This will let you see where the packets are coming from when ROCK gets chatty.

Or put a keyboard on the Rock machine and follow the instructions here to reset network

Indeed. All of these solutions, and more, were presented (in part by @ipeverywhere) in the other thread that I linked in the first reply.
