Cheapest possible Roon UI on a large screen

The frame is based on android,
you need to know if it is possible to install 3rd APP in the frame.

Could the Thomson Go Plus be the perfect choice of you want a large size Roon control point? A bit pricy maybe, but apart from that, what do you think?

Wow that’s very nice! More than I would like to spend at the moment but who knows, if I can find another use case it might become acceptable. Thanks for the hint.

I use a Google Chromecast Ultra to display Roon on my Oled tv.

@Wen That’s a very cool display solution and it spurred my imagination.

I want to see pictures when someone gets one of these working!

Found this thread, and wanted to see if this would be a viable option:

Use a RAYPODO 14-inch Android Tablet. This has no battery to worry about, and is powered by PoE or USB. I happened to have PoE in my media rack, so I would use that.

Then, I would install the kiosk browser and set it up as a web display. Finally, I would install the Roon client, but it would never be visible. I only want it so the Android tasker sees a “Now Playing” notification. With that notification, I can turn the display on/off. I only want the display visible if I’m using Roon. I don’t want the display on if I’m watching a movie given this screen will be below my TV and next to the center channel.

Anyone else do something like this? The 14" screen is $249 on Amazon.

I have a dedicated MacMini running RoonServer (remote in a closet) and a SOtM Streamer feeding my DAC. I would much like to have a little display showing what is currently played. If that would be usable to do some basic remote control that would be a fantastic bonus.

Would a Raspberry PI with a dedicated 4.3 DSL touchscreen be usable do that trick? If so, how can that be configured to stress my system as little as possible?
Thanks a lot for any suggestion!
