As I recall when I had an Android phone, there simply was a Cast button in the notifications panel,

Any idea how to access the “notifications panel”?
I don’t want to install Google Home app. Seems all a bit confusing to me…

Swipe down from the top of the screen. Maybe twice (i.e. the first swipe displays some settings and it expands further if you swipe again. You can also configure which buttons you see there and in which order. IIRC, one of them was a Cast button)

Did this, but cannot find a Cast button

Then I guess you just have to use it in the way Google says it works now
