Crossfade option turn off for whole album play

+1 request for crossfade only on manual track changes

I use system output for crossfade and use my DAC output for normal playing until they fix this

I absolutely support this feature. Sounds so logical. I am wondering what are the technical challenges that prevents Roon from having this.

Still flabbergasted this feature still hasn’t found its way in roon.

I agree this would be so good.

Does roon know when an album is mixed and therefore shouldn’t be crossfaded? May be harder to implement than I realise.

What also would be an option: … limit crossfade to Roon radio only! There the feature comes in nicely, but crossfading tracks on albums / compilations/DJ Mixes doesn’t make any sense anyway.

+1 from me. I concur with Dennis’ earlier comment that the Squeezebox/Logitech Media Server smart crossfade feature handles this wonderfully. As an LMS refugee, I’d forgotten I even had this set until my albums started crossfading on Roon.

I’d also like to point that Apple Music has this feature. Their crossfade/AutoMix options are automatically disabled when listening to an album. Come on, Roon! if Apple Music can pull it off…

This feature is pretty common across services—particularly those focused on music listening.

+1 here as well.
I am listening to many DJ mixes where crossfade is not wanted, of course.

Indeed, other software do this.

To me a first simple way to arrange this could be: if user adds a full album, then disable crossfade entirely. Option that you could toggle off next to the crossfade timer, for users not interested.
