My daily mix tends to play a variety of new material and a core of the same songs day after day. (Lou Reed Perfect Day - Hotel California- Father & Son - etc.) Any thoughts on how to reduce this as I am getting plenty sick of Perfect Day. (I understand banning the track does not work for daily mixes.)
Thanks!
I agree. I find that certain tracks are the ones that almost always come up for performers. For example, Dave Brubeck/Take Five, Miles Davis/track from Kind of Blue, etc. Kind of like a top forty of whatever genre the list is about. Need deeper cuts.
Agree , Agree , My Daily Mixes is not the place i go for discovery nor for just playing some music. Here my smart playlists and Roon Radio does a better job. Sometimes i even get the same track in more than one Mix.

To adapt to each users preferences the Daily Mixes should/could be configurable by the user for each individual Mix. If You like top 40 songs by every artist You could get that in one Mix and Deep Cuts in another with Artist You already have in Your Library OR maybe Not.
Add Genre preferences, old/new stuff etc. , Preference of using my libarary over streaming and HRES/CD etc would also bee good.

Daily Mixes has potential and could take the place of Roon Radio (if not improved further) …
Same here. I stopped using Daily Mixes a long time ago.
This could be such a great feature, but not as it is now.
That has been an on and off again issue with Daily Mix since it was released. I generated a database over 5 months of every daily mix and it’s tracks and shared the results with the Roon team. The best was 9 straight days of Pink Floyd mixes. It has gotten much better over time I will say.
I have the same problem with Daily Mix playing the same songs over again and again. It’s a self-perpetuating problem. So, I just started playing albums from the bottom of my most played albums sort.
Daily Mixes are now a joke.
I had high hopes in discovering new music with Roon, but these kind of song are not really what I would call ‘discovering something new’
Hey!!! Some of them bands are gotta be BIG! You read it here first!

Same same here.
I am seldom surprised with New Artists or Deep Cuts. Neither do i see the point in adding a track from Tidal or Qobuz that i altready have as a local file/album which is tagged, loved and played multiple times already.
The Daily Mixes IMHO has a great potential. One way could be to let the user have the option to tune/configurec each of the mixes to own liking with inputs like , Release, Year(s) , Genre(s), Popular vs Deep Cuts , Last Played , Sonic characteristcs , Covers , Record Labels, Language, Country/Region ,etc .
These options for user interactions would also do magic if added to Roon Radio if reation of customized Radio Stations where allowed ( ref Pandora / Slacker )
Soundiiz has an option to generate playlists using “AI” based on decades and genres. Going to play with it and what I get.
I tried the Soundiiz AI solution for a while and created a PL in Tidal every week that i played in Roon. For my test it was ok in the beginning but it ran out of steam with fewer interesting tracks after a while. I did the test just after it was released and may have improved.
I’m getting close to the point of stopping using the Daily Mixes. When it shows up with an 80s based mix around any 80’s artist then I can be 99% sure that it will contain Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This. And other similar songs pop up all the time as well. Basically each mix is at least 70% the same…
Yeah, the daily mix is so stale. Hope Roon fix the algorithm soon. I swear I see these tracks almost every day - very frustrating. 3 screenshots from 3 different mixes from today.
Every track is the artist most known tracks, or atleast top 3
Daily mix should be to rediscover your library with some new tracks outside library thrown in.
Worse - I am getting many of the same recommendations you posted.
yes, very poor.
@Support is Daily Mixes broken or did it really knows only 100 songs?
I recognize 95% of the tracks as they very frequently show up here as well.
It feels like the Roon team own a 2 CD box of alltime favorites and have that shuffle play continuously.
@Moonshiner
I get exaxctly the same recommendations as you posted. This is very strange.
In my opinion the daily mixes are broken.
Riders on the Wild Side seems to be the latest hit I never knew Lou Reed and the Doors made a song together that Roon felt it had to be shared with everyone.
