Fred Hersh, jazz pianist, is credited on Joe Walsh’s Smoker You Drink Album. Presumably, this is for the song ‘Days Gone By’ according to Roon. But a look in AllMusic at Walsh’s album and one of Mr. Hersh’s tells the true story: Walsh’s song was written by his bandmate, drummer and flutist extraordinaire, Joe Vitale, while Mr. Hersh wrote a same-titled song for his jazz trio album at the Village Vanguard.
