Desktop roon controller from hacked Lenovo ThinkSmart View device

Just wanted to share something that I find useful - Lenovo made these ThinkSmart View devices for teams. You can hack them to run plain Android 8.0 and then you can put the roon remote app on it. It will sit nicely on your desk in portrait mode. Speaker is not bad also.

here is a pic of it running roon on my desk

I have just finished the same project this weekend, Do you just play music with the internal speaker or do you use it to control any other speakers? Mine isn’t working with Airplay or Sonos speakers.

It’s a roon controller like any other controller running the Android roon remote app. If you can’t control Sonos or AirPlay speakers with it then that means those speakers are not able to be controlled by your roon system at all. Are you trying to say that other roon controllers work with these speakers but the one running on the hacked think smart device doesn’t? For me it works both as an endpoint and as a controller for all my zones.
