Roon essentials is a cut down version of roon that only works on ELAC hardware and is bundled with their server.

Here is a list I got from Elac support. Unfortunately, I had to find out most of these things on my own since there appears to be no comprehensive list of the differences between the full product and essentials. The list of features missing from essentials seems to be correct except for number three. Roon essentials will display lyrics.
