Dififculty adding a station manually

I’m trying to add a station (that I am broadcasting locally) to roon so that i can easily push it to home assistant. Because of my integration between the two, roon has to be involved since it takes over my speakers.

I’m trying to add the stream at the following url: http://s1-bos.liveatc.net/2b2
There are .mp3 and .m3u versions there and it is publicly accessible.

I have an internal stream pushed by icecast that I have more control over if additional formats or settings, but it’s not available outside my network (and I’m not sure if that is OK, or if roon is checking it from the internet).

TL;DR trying to get a mp3 stream playing through roon live radio, but getting the standard “can not find a station at that url” message.

I agree Roon won’t play it - though VLC and browsers do.

From the logs:

07/26 09:21:34 [Local 07/26 10:21:34] Warn: [zoneplayer] Remote Load Failure While Opening Sound: icy://s1-bos.liveatc.net/2b2: Icy: timed out while starting stream
07/26 09:21:34 [Local 07/26 10:21:34] Warn: [streammediafile] error reading stream: Unable to read data from the transport connection: Software caused connection abort.
07/26 09:21:34 [Local 07/26 10:21:34] Info: [HD Audio] [zoneplayer] Open Result (Playing):Result[Status=MediaTooSlow]

Mediainfo shows

Conformance errors : 1
 MPEG-Audio : Yes
General compliance : Bitstream synchronisation is lost (frame 223, offset 0x3EB8)

which might have an effect for Roon - don’t know.

I’ve checked debug logs from VLC but nothing obvious.

It’s quite a low rate;

Input #0, mp3, from 'http://s1-bos.liveatc.net/2b2':
  Metadata:
    icy-genre : ATC
    icy-name : 2B2 CTAF
    icy-pub : 0
  Duration: N/A, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 8 kb/s
  Stream #0:0: Audio: mp3 (mp3float), 8000 Hz, mono, fltp, 8 kb/s

Can you up it and try again?
