Discourse bug - (Unread) post count is incorrect

There is a reported bug in a recent/latest version of the Discourse software, on which this forum runs whereby some users’ (Unread) post count is incorrect… I have it too: my ‘Unread’ shows ‘1’; but everything is in fact read.

FYI - with best wishes for a quick fix/update… .

Additionally, as @Suedkiez has already reported, I have been getting notifications of likes and solutions made in response to posts that have nothing to do with me - not the post or even the thread.

Wade,

From other fora which I use, it does seem to have a ‘spreading’ personality, whatever it is that’s going wrong…

I’d suggest moving this to Feedback as I’m not sure Roon will see this here.

Thanks, @MusicD, I’ll happily do so if others agree.

I suspect it’s more something that the Roon forum administrators can only attend to when a new version of Discourse is released?

I have since come to the conclusion that these might be solution notifications for every solved thread I’ve posted in, even if the solution was not mine. Which might not be the worst thing. (These solutions are not attributed to me in the solution list of my account).

I don’t think I received likes that weren’t for me.

Hi @Mark_Sealey,

Thanks for raising this … we [mods] had also noticed and flagged it to Roon.

From the link you posted …

I can add that Roon IT staff who maintain the forum’s infrastructure will update accordingly once Discourse release a new build of the forum software.

Great. Thanks, Carl!

In the meantime, as a way of - one hopes - explaining untoward counts etc to anyone who isn’t aware of it  .

Agreed. These notifications do not appear to affect the counts.

FWIW on another forum running Discourse I tried logging out and in again.

Did not solve what - in that case - was the opposite, or at least a ‘variation’ on the reported bug I linked to in my OP: counts not or erratically updating.
