Yup - Roon Labs set the limit at 8 I believe in an attempt to make sure that Votes were meaningful.
Hah! That’s ridiculous, it means it’s very likely all of us who have been here for years have long since used up our votes, so feature requests never get any votes… clever! And yes I just discovered I can cancel votes I made on other posts, which is also ridiculous… I think I’ll just let Roon keep giving me things I don’t want and never asked for as usual and forget making requests… (no need to reply not a dig at you personally
)
You just have to decide which one is more important to you. You can remove votes from older requests. They will never implement everything, so put your votes on the most important ones.
If everyone had unlimited votes, the forum regulars would vote for a hundred things and the votes of people who are not here all the time would become buried and worthless.
…and it also means Roon don’t have to worry about most of the long timers here casting any votes either! I’ve just checked my votes and none of the features or issues voted for (except maybe one) have been implemented to my satisfaction… so… as a long term Roon user I now have no say in any issues or new features requested - I get the message.
Yes I know I’m being grumpy, but I just remembered I don’t have a say, I forget for a minute and made this request… it won’t happen again and let’s watch it fade into oblivion with all the others that I can’t vote on as well.
PS: I think I’m going to learn French and start pestering Qobuz for a few things now, they are only about five features short of Roon that I would really miss!
Yes, I think this is exactly how they want it to work
Same experience here. Recasting those older votes doesn’t seem to help either.
That’s the reason I let my five year Roon sub lapse at the end of '24 after switching to LMS last September.
Did the same several months ago. It just works. And my server never has been running as cool as now…
