Does Roon modify metadata or just store it’s own findings in the database?

I’ve dumped my whole music folder into Roon and it’s easy to find what I want in Roon but I wonder if the tags were affected by Roon or if I might also want to get a tag editor and make changes to the music files directly.

Roon doesn’t alter your local music files in any way.

You will want a tag editor. Roon is too kludgy for bulk edits and such. And as Danny once said, Roon is not a tagger.

I strongly advise making all, or most all, edits to your files by inputting changes yourself using a tagger.
