I work at home, and I almost always have Roon playing some background music. The thing is that it seems like all the listening impacts any recommendations I get when I get to any serious listening. It’s probably not a surprise that my work listening is more background music so it tends to be low and mellow.
What I find now, however, is if I go for a drive and choose a genre radio like rock, everything that plays is soft and mellow. My library runs the gamut from classical, soft electronic, country, jazz, all the way to heavy metal. I was just in the car for an hour, and every song played was really mellow. Even the one Ozzie song was his mellowest tune.
Am I perceiving this correct – my work listening is over-training the recommendations toward soft and mellow? If so, is there any way to prevent it? This child of the 70s and 80s wants to rock out without always having to specifically choose or build a playlist.
You could try to use a different profile while working. I have two profiles, one is only for the occasional nonsense I sometimes listen to. The recommendations, like ‘new music for you’, are completely different for this profile.
In your history screen tap and hold a single track. After a second this track will be selected and you will be able to select more. These can then be moved after clicking the button on the top right of your screen.
