Don't apply crossfade if an album is gapless

Hi,

A feature Apple Music has - wondering if we can have over here in Roon.

Don’t crossfade if the album is gapless.

I often have crossfade on, start playing an album - often I don’t realise its going to be gapless - and after the first track its crossfades, spoiling the albums intention.
Another example of this annoyance is when playing a dj mix, and again I forgot to switch crossfade off, the mix of course is gapless, and it ends up sounding like a mess.

Thanks.

interesting thought is how Apple (or Roon) would determine an album as gapless, track timings , track count ?

Take Dark Side of the Moon, according to the track layout it has Tracks so wouldn’t appear gapless

Personally I never use Crossfade or Cross Feed. I listen mostly with no DSP , if any it’s volume leveling to save my ears :innocent:

Yeah that is interesting - perhaps they have access to the CUE sheet to determine?

Otherwise, maybe some audio analysis helps them?

Not even sure a CUE sheet helps they just list tracks and times

I have no idea

It’s a good feature request and I’ve voted for it. Don’t forget to vote for your own suggestion.

I’d love to, but I have no votes left - and I have no idea what I voted on in the past to unvote - furthermore I don’t think our vote allowance resets.
