Download tracks from TIDAL

Sorry probably a stupid question.
I just subscribed to TIDAL.
If I integrate it into my ROON server. Can I then download files to my server and become the owner of them?
Thanks.

No, streaming only. You can however add Tidal tracks/albums/playlists to your Roon library, so they behave the same as local.

Downloading (and playing downloads) is only possible in Tidal’s own apps, but even then you’re not the ‘owner’: you can only play these tracks with an active subscription.

Ok thank you.
Is there any other platform where one can buy high definition files as more and more no CDs are available anymore.

Qobuz’s Sublime subscription allows you to purchase high definition files and integrates with Roon, if available where you reside.

Qobuz lets you buy tracks or albums even without a subscription. The advantage of the Sublime subscriptions is the discount that you get. Not the ability to buy content.

Point well taken.

Qobuz would be a better choice for you. Full integration with Roon, just like Tidal. But also the ability to buy music. Which you can download DRM free.

I’ve upgraded my Qobuz subscription to Sublime. With Sublime you’ll get a big discount on hi-res albums making them cheaper than normal CD quality.
