DSD Playback Strategy

My current Roon setup is Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 into the Marantz AV 20. I have two signal paths, XLR and HDMI (for multichannel audio).

When the Eversolo is set to send DSD to the Marantz, the signal path is a straightforward lossless path:

However, I often prefer to play multichannel music with Marantz room correction enabled, which requires a DSD > PCM conversion. I would like the Eversolo to perform the conversion, so I set the HDMI out tp do a DSD to PCM conversion. When I do this, the signal path gets more complicated, and indicates that Roon and not the Eversolo is handling the conversion:

There is no setting to adjust DSD playback strategy in device settings, so I cannot send DoP and allow the Eversolo to do the conversion - bummer.

So, I am curious - is this just a limitation of the Eversolo, and is it something that could change with, say, an Eversolo firmware update (which they issue regularly)? For those of you with an Eversolo, is there perhaps a setting buried in a menu that might signal this ability to Roon?

Clearly, the Eversolo can handle native DSD from Roon, so I wonder why this is even an issue at all.

Thanks, all!

I feel compelled to add this, after reading a fair amount of posts on this topic. I guess what I learned is that since the Eversolo is a complete Roon endpoint and not just a transport, Roon assumes full control of the device in this particular respect? Do I have that right?

Also and I guess the ultimate question is, how does the quality of Roon’s DSD > PCM conversion (which is two conversions) compare to something like my Eversolo streamer? I will say that setting the Eversolo to convert DSD to PCM, and thus having Roon do the conversion, to me sounds better than sending DSD to the Marantz and having it do the conversion - so I suppose it doesn’t really matter, but I’d like to learn more about this and am interested in the Roon community’s opinions.
